Timer Trigger
The timer trigger in Google Tag Manager allows you to send events to Tag Manager at predefined intervals. Use this trigger to track how long a user spends on a page to complete a task (e.g. read an article, fill out a form, or complete a purchase).
Include a millisecond interval. The trigger will activate at the specified interval, for instance, every 5000 milliseconds. Introduce a Limit value to determine how many times the trigger will activate. If left blank, firing events will continue until the user navigates away from the page.
For example, this trigger proves valuable on session pages, especially for webmasters seeking to monitor user engagement and the duration spent on the page. Examples include tracking user interactions on banking sites or the homepage of a website.
